There is no doubt that a health revolution has begun. Each and every day, individuals have become more in tune with the significance of natural health and wellness. I find myself more and more intrigued by the
natural gifts that planet Earth provides that we can use to help heal ourselves inside and out. The truth is that my initial goal was for this blog to be an extension of my Happily Whole adventure; to allow people to come together to share their own knowledge and secrets, in order to help spread the power of natural healing. My personal truth is that I am a love-struck girl living a high-class gypsy life, with a strong passion in holistic health & nutrition, and helping others to help themselves. My boyfriend, Alec (of 8+ years) has been following his dream of playing professional ice hockey. Over the past few years, we have had to come up with ways in which we can both follow our own individual dreams without having to sacrifice the special life that we share together. For anyone who may not know, the minor professional hockey life involves traveling to wherever you are needed at that moment, living in limbo, and relying only on your strong desire to reach your ultimate goal.
As I continue my own personal journey toward living a more happily whole life on the go, I hope to help and inspire others who want to follow me along for the ride.

Here I am..

I know I disappeared for a few days.  Thank you for being patient!  I could write a novel on just what Alec and I experienced since I last wrote, but I will try to control myself...
It is essential that I remain happily whole & keep positive thoughts despite a minor, yet aggravating car accident caused by an 80-year old man sacrificing our car and our sanity at the moment, and being moved in and out of 3 different houses/apartments.  Times like these make you focus on what is really important and stay grounded in such a fleeting world and potentially fleeting position in Elmira.
Yesterday morning I waited for Alec to come back and pick me up after practice from an apartment that we have since moved out of.  I wont get into details, but let’s just say it wasn’t the most sanitary of conditions, and the heat wasn’t working, so I found myself layered up with my uggs and hat on, waiting for the time to pass.  Next thing I knew, I was in the warrior position, receiving a yoga video tutorial on ichat from Jane (Alec’s mom).  Jane is now a certified yoga instructor, and the most passionate “yogi” that I know.  I was lucky enough to receive a personal sneak peak of her teachings on ichat.  When Jane found out that I was under some stress and that I was uncomfortably cold without the heat working properly, we whipped out our laptops, and she had me in every pose that I could handle despite the small and delayed video format, and not being able to touch the filthy floor of the apartment. HA! I was amazed at how my body was warming up in no time, and it was certainly an entertaining and distracting way to pass the time.  I have since been practicing the breathing exercises and poses that she taught me.  I am looking forward to future video yoga lessons from Jane, and purchasing a yoga DVD so that I can practice on my own while I am on-the-go.  Does anyone have any recommendations of a particular yoga DVD? Please do share below! I wanted to share this great article and video that I found that shows you how you can relieve daily stress and aches with yoga exercises that can be done without even having to leave your chair!

Today, Alec and I took an adventure to Ithaca for a change of scenery in our spunky, brand new rental car (courtesy of the 80-year old man's insurance company).  We shared a fresh strawberry banana smoothie at a local cafe, took in the beautiful surroundings throughout the drive, and managed to find an oriental market while we were heading back to Elmira.  You should know that I am an oriental market junkie, and we are forced to stop the car whenever we come across one.  Luckily, this market was a lot more appealing than the one we stumbled upon in Evansville, Indiana that had mysterious buckets of what was supposed to be tofu and other oriental delicacies suspended in liquid.  I could have spent all day in this one, but we had to limit our time..Our purchases were limited to Alec’s selection of aloe vera juice (side note: make sure that you only consume aloe vera juice that does not include aloe latex that can be potentially harmful to ingest), and our favorite seaweed snack. I am looking forward to ending this unforgettably crazy week with some good Jackal's hockey tomorrow night at the First Arena! Then, Alec is off for the remainder of the weekend to take on the Reading Royals in their own Pennsylvania barn Saturday and Sunday.  I have mixed feelings about my upcoming weekend alone in Elmira, but I suppose I am looking forward to having some 'me' time. A few uneventful days wouldn't be so terrible either...
